4. Villages

Many of our vibrant villages are home to superb art galleries, designer homewares stores and/or fashion boutiques - all fantastic places to pick up a gift to give! Along Port Phillip, we recommend a stopover in Mornington, Sorrento and the Dromana-Rosebud-Rye stretch of coastline. On the Western Port side, Flinders and Balnarring are top spots to visit.

5. Markets

Markets are great places to connect with local food producers, artists and craftspeople. Two of the best and longest running markets on the Mornington Peninsula are the Red Hill Community Market held on the first Saturday of the month (September to May), and the Mornington Racecourse Market held on the second Sunday of every month. Allow yourself plenty of time to wander the isles and chat with local farmers and makers. Of course, don't forget to stock up on handpicked and handmade goodies that will make your tastebuds dance! Keep an eye out for handcrafted jewellery and fashion, homewares, crafts and sculptural pieces. Bring your basket to fill with all your purchases.
