Hickinbotham of Dromana

For the Hickinbotham family, their involvement in the art of winemaking dates back a century. In fact, it was the early 1920s when grandfather ‘Hick’ started the first scientific winemaking course in Australia. Hickinbotham of Dromana’s winery opened in 1988, whilst the Hix Brewery arrived later in 2006.

Dromana 3 Drive-In

It’s an exciting time for the Dromana 3 Drive-In, as they this year celebrate 60 years of operation! Since 1962, the famous silver screen has been sharing stories with audiences under starry night skies. There’s also the iconic Shel’s Diner on-site too, which finds inspiration from the classic 1950’s American-style diner.

Cruden Farm

The story of Cruden Farm in Langwarrin began in 1928. A time when journalist and newspaper executive Keith Murdoch gifted the farm to his bride-to-be Elisabeth Greene (later to be known as Dame Elisabeth Murdoch). Over the years, the property has undergone numerous transformations. And today, visitors can explore the colourful gardens and enjoy guided tours.

Mulberry Hill

Built in 1926, Mulberry Hill in Langwarrin South is most famous for its once-owners Sir Daryl and Joan Lindsay. Sir Daryl held the position of Director at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) for fifteen years. And it was Lady Joan who was the creative behind the celebrated Australian novel Picnic at Hanging Rock.

Regarded as one of the state’s oldest homesteads, McCrae Homestead and Museum has an extensive history dating back more than 175 years. Point Nepean National Park

At the tip of the Mornington Peninsula, the Point Nepean National Park is as scenic as it is insightful. The history here spans back thousands of years to the original custodians of the land, the Bunurong People. Visitors can also find the 1852 Quarantine Station here, as well as Fort Nepean which was used both in the late 1900s and two World Wars.

Cape Schanck Lighthouse

Did you know the Cape Schanck Lighthouse is the third oldest lighthouse on mainland Australia? And at 163 years old, it is one of the most scenic and spectacular places to visit on the Mornington Peninsula. For added wow factor, the Lighthouse is still operating with its original 1859 lens!
