Dreaming of a long weekend on the Mornington Peninsula

With the long weekend fast approaching the challenge is on to find the ideal way to spend those glorious three days wisely. Foodie, art lover, music devotee or craft beer enthusiast, the Mornington Peninsula has you covered this Labour Day weekend. Read on for days bursting with experiences to inspire a little feasting, fun and catch ups with friends.

Celebrate our land and local harvests with the Polperro dining room at the first of a Wine and Dinner series celebrating ‘Our Farmers.  The team will share their farm stories and triumphs, followed by a share style menu designed with the best produce from Polperro Farm, Daniel’s Run Tomatoes and Tuerong Farm to feast on - all perfectly matched with the Polperro and Even Keel wines.  Winemaker Sam Coverdale will also share his viticultural philosophy, centred around organic and biodynamic management and long steeped traditions. Food with insight - you know it will tantalise the taste buds!

Taste sensations continue at Point Leo EstateOn Friday night - fall in love with Phil Wood’s  fabulous Fridays in an evening dedicated to the deliciousness of fried chicken. Start your long weekend relaxation on their all-weather Wine Terrace while taking in the breathtaking news of the vineyard and iconic Sculpture park with a Pt. Leo Estate wine in hand or perhaps a Jetty Road beer is more your style, all for $45 per person.

Looking for a more relaxed meander? Enjoy the outdoors and get your craft on when you meet the makers, the bakers and the growers at Point Nepean Portsea Market on Saturday 7. A foodie delight, make sure you bring your apetitite to sample plenty of  delectable local producers while you explore.

Sweet sounds call on Saturday night- immerse yourself in the soothing waters of Peninsula Hot Springs. Relax, float and unwind as you take in live music from Perolas Duo, part of the showcase series performed from the Amphitheatre stage while you bathe from 7pm.  Showcase performances are complimentary with Bath House experiences.

Art lovers, we know we can inspire.  Three generations of family artisans celebrate their 30th Anniversary at Gordon Glassblowers in 2020.  The long weekend launches a series of live blown glass works, demonstrated each Saturday from concept to creation followed by an explanation of the process. A unique experience to witness an ancient craft amongst the rolling Red Hill landscape.

Haven’t sipped your way through the homegrown flavours of the Mornington Peninsula beer, cider and spirits trail yet?  No better time than a long weekend to meet the brewers, cider makers and distillers up close and see where they practice their craft to find your ultimate sip. From industrial chic to rustic charm, each destination offers a taste sensation unique to their own environment. You’ll find variety a plenty to fill your three days.

Here on the Mornington Peninsula - this long weekend let time slow down, dial up the senses and restore connections with friends and family over three days styled the Peninsula way.
