The Full Way

For the adventurers at heart, the complete 26km route represents an exceptional challenge. Option one? Start the trek in Dromana (with a quick coffee fix) before finishing the walk at the picturesque Cape Schanck. For option two, complete the hike in the opposite direction and enjoy a dip in the Port Phillip waters to cool off and refresh at the journey’s end.

Split It Up

Seeking a more relaxed morning or afternoon stroll? There are plenty of opportunities to split the full Two Bays Walking Track into smaller sections, whether it be between Dromana and Arthurs Seat or through Greens Bush in the Mornington Peninsula National Park. Go at your own pace and meander for as far as desired. Get a group together and make it a social experience too!

With A Picnic Stop Along The Way

A picnic stopover is one of the best ways to treat those grumbling tummies and hangry feelings. And on this particular route, there exists a selection of spots to pull out the chequered rug and share a feast. For all the scenic picnic areas, check out our touring map here! And to see where you can pick up all the best local foodie goodness for the experience, take a look at the region’s colourful scene of artisan retailers here.

With a Camera In Hand

If you didn’t know it already, the Mornington Peninsula is a spectacularly scenic place to visit. And yep, you guessed it! The Two Bays Walking Track offers plenty of opportunities to be wowed by amazing outlooks as well as abundant flora and fauna. From the panoramic coast and country views in the Arthurs Seat State Park to the breathtaking rugged landscape at Bushrangers Bay, you’ll most definitely want to have a camera in hand!

Make It Historic

At either end of the lengthy track, two significant sites of historical curiosity can be found. If heading towards the Port Phillip waters, why not stop by Heronswood House and Garden in Dromana for a post-walk ‘treat yourself’ lunch and extra wander in the lush gardens? If Cape Schanck is the final destination, add some extra excitement to the day and take part in an informative tour of the iconic 1859 Lighthouse.

So there you have it! Multiple ways to hike the Two Bays Walking Track this Spring (and multiple ways to add a real spring into your step!). And as a little secret from us, we think it’s one of the best walks on the Mornington Peninsula!
